The 30-year-old was detained by police at his south-east London home at 7.30am this morning (September 20) and taken for questioning at a London police station.
The man was arrested under section 1 of the Computer Misuse Act 1990 and Scotland Yard said that the matter relates to a "suspected conspiracy" regarding data from stolen mobile phone handsets.
He was also arrested for the alleged handling of stolen goods.
Operation Tuleta is the Metropolitan Police investigation into computer hacking related to the phone hacking scandal.
Today's event follows yesterday's arrests of a policeman and two journalists as part of Operation Elveden - the investigation of illegal payments by journalists to public officials.
Both journalists were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to corrupt and conspiracy to cause misconduct in a public office.
The serving Wiltshere Police officer was held on suspicion of misconduct in a public office and suspicion of conspiracy to commit misconduct in a public office.
