A man has reportedly been arrested in relation to the creation of an offensive Facebook page.

The page on the social networking site made reference to the deaths of Greater Manchester Police officers Fiona Bone and Nicola Hughes.

Bone, 32, and Hughes, 23, died from gunshot wounds after a gun and grenade attack when they were targeted during a routine burglary call.

A page had been set up with the name "Dale Cregan Legend", referencing the murder suspect in the case.

It also described Cregan as "The greatest legend since Raoul moat".

In 2010, 37-year-old Moat injured his ex-girlfriend Samantha Stobbart and police officer David Rathband in a shooting incident and killed Stobbart's new partner Chris Brown. Moat died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after a stand-off with police.
