Iostar plans expansion
Published Monday, Dec 18 2006, 14:57 GMT | By Joanne Oatts
Iostar is reportedly looking to acquire independent production company West Park Pictures, modelling agency Models 1 and marketing group Branded.
The company that lured Sky managing director Dawn Airey last week to become its chief executive, was registered at Companies House last month, stating it would have media advertising, television brand partners, business TV, celebrity management, entertainment, factual television, music publishing and theatrical production divisions.
West Park Pictures, is run by the film-maker and creative director Andre Singer, and specialises in feature documentaries, history and science programmes. Models 1, which has Linda Evangelista and celebrities including Patsy Kensit and Joely Richardson on its books, is run by John Horner, already a director of Iostar and tipped to become its chief operating officer. Marketing agency Branded was founded by former BSkyB marketing director Philip Ley.
Former Hallmark executive Mark Grenside and Marketing Week founder Tim Carron-Brown have founded Iostar. Some reports have suggested former UKTV chief executive Dick Emery has been approached to become a non-executive chairman of the group.
