Zane returns to Xfm

GCap-owned Xfm has signed up Alex Zane to host its Friday breakfast show.

Zane will replace Shaun Keaveny, who has left the station for BBC 6Music. Lauren Laverne will continue to present the show Monday to Thursday.

The Popworld host, who used to present a weekend show on the London station, has also appeared on MTV, presented E4's coverage of Space Cadets and Children In Need project Celebrity Scissorhands.

Paul Tonkinson, currently breakfast show presenter on Xfm's Manchester station, also joins to present a weekday afternoon programme from Monday to Friday. He will be replaced on the Manchester breakfast show by comedian Jason Manford.

Steve Harris will host Xfm's new three hour music show, Music: Response, from 7pm from Monday to Thursay.
