'Question Time' / BBC
The creators of Jerry Springer - The Opera, comedian Stewart Lee and writing partner Richard Thomas, are writing versions of both as part of five 30-minute episodes for a new BBC Two series, Kombat Opera Presents.
BBC executive editor of comedy commissioning John Rolph said the shows would be "funny and daring".
Produced by Avalon Television, the series will feature a lead, non-singing comedy character backed by a 45-piece BBC concert orchestra, with a cast of professional opera singers and West End actors.
