Sky News has recruited ITV Meridian news presenter Charlotte Hawkins to its Sunrise team.
Hawkins, who begins her new role on Monday, will provide a round-up of the top stories, joining presenter Eamonn Holmes and sports presenter Jacquie Beltrao on the 6-9am show.
Hawkins started her career at ITN in 1999 as a news reader and reporter for LBC Radio, moving on to Meridian Television within the year. Since October 2003 she has co-presented ITV Meridian's main news programme Meridian Tonight, as well as ITV1's coverage of the The London Boat Show.
Hawkins replaces Lorna Dunkley who is moving from Sunrise to Sky News Weekend. Dunkley joins Emma Crosby, Steve Dixon, Mark Longhurst and Chris Roberts in presenting Sky News' weekend programming.
