NTL announces Duffy’s departure

Simon Duffy, executive vice chairman of NTL Incorporated, has resigned from the company.
Duffy joined NTL in April 2003 as chief operating officer, going on to become president and chief executive officer in August 2003.
Appointed executive vice chairman in January 2006, he was involved in the refinancing process which led to the merger with Telewest, and the acquisition of Virgin Mobile last March.
Jim Mooney, chairman of NTL, said: “He has helped create a company which is well positioned to take advantage of the huge opportunities the digital age presents."
Virgin Media, the new re-branded name for the merged NTL:Telewest and Virgin Mobile companies, is expected to launch over the next month.
