Brits pulls in 5.2 million

Coverage of The Brit Awards pulled in 5.2 million viewers and a 22.3% share on ITV1 at 8pm last night.

Hosted by Russell Brand, the two-hour live coverage peaked at 6.3 million and a 27.2% share at the start, falling to 4.7 million and a 20.3% share in the final 15-minutes.

Last year, 4.7 million tuned into the ceremony, giving the show a 20.1% share in a similar 8pm slot. The 2005 awards took 6.6 million and a 28% share.

But on BBC One, the FA Cup fourth round replay between Bolton Wanderers and Arsenal topped The Brits audience with 5.7 million and a 24.4% share. The coverage peaked in extra time with 7.4 million and a 38.1% share at 10.30pm.

On BBC Two Dragons' Den pulled in 2.9 million and a 12.2% share, with Channel 4 pipping its rival with Relocation, Relocation which attracted 3.3 million viewers and a 13.9% share. The final part of Five's So You Think You Can Nurse? managed 1 million and a 4.3% share.
