'Lewis' debut pulls 7.4 million

ITV1's new series of Inspector Morse spin-off show Lewis attracted a 7.4 million and a 31.6% share in its 2-hour slot at 9pm last night.
The show beat BBC One's Waking the Dead, which grabbed 5.4 million viewers and a 20.1% share.
ITV1 also did well earlier in the night with Wild at Heart scoring 7.3 million and a 26.9% share, and the BBC's Rough Diamond picking up just 4 million and a 14.6% share.
BBC Two did better for the corporation, with Top Gear pulling in 7.4 million viewers and a 27.5% share, adding 1.5 million viewers from last week. A documentary on 9/11 conspiracy theories managed just 3.9 million and a 14.7% share on the channel.
Channel 4 documentary Feral Children managed 1.3 million and a 4.9% share at 8pm, with film Gladiator taking 1.8 million and a 10.2% share.
On Channel Five, a movie double bill saw Batman Returns pull in 1.3 million and a 5% share while Miss Congeniality managed 1.8 million and an 8% share at 9pm.
