GCap poaches Chrysalis programming head

GCap Media has announced that Pete Simmons has been made group programme director, content/digital.
Simmons, who was previously group head of programmes at rival Chrysalis Radio, will have a dual role at the company.
He will be responsible for ensuring that content is shared across the group and all its platforms and will also head up the digital radio team, with responsibility for the development and programming of GCap digital radio brands.
Reporting to Dirk Anthony, group director of programmes, his joining date has yet to be decided.
Anthony said: "We are very much looking forward to having Pete on board. His vast programming knowledge and experience will help create greater value from the rich content GCap generates every day."
The appointment comes just weeks after GCap, owner of ClassicFM, Capital Radio, Xfm and new digital station theJazz, announced that former Virgin Radio chief executive Fru Hazlitt was to become the managing director of its London stations.
Simmons commented: "This role gives me a great opportunity to maximise the potential of GCap’s excellent content to meet our listeners’ demands."
