Biography Channel relaunches as Bio

The Biography Channel, a joint venture between BSkyB and A&E Networks, is to be rebranded as Bio from April.
A new logo and on screen identity will be launched, giving it a more contemporary look. The channel hopes the move will better reflect the broader range of programmes on the channel, which include documentaries about classic Hollywood icons as well as reality series' such as The Simple Life.
Head of marketing Michelle Danks said: "With a wider range of programming we felt that the old identity no longer reflected this change, or the growth of the channel from documentaries to entertainment, from classic to contemporary."
Launched in October 2000, the channel is available throughout the UK and Ireland on cable and satellite services, reaching 8.5 million households on Sky 161 and Virgin TV 242.
