T-Com and Buena Vista International Television (BVITV) have closed a multi-year video on demand movie rental agreement.
The deal sees Deutsche Telekom's online VoD offering becoming the only service in Europe to offer content from all eight major Hollywood studios.
Customers will be able to enjoy Disney movie titles such as Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, Toy Story and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea from T-Online video on demand and T-Home service. A large number of these movies will also be available in high definition on the T-Home Triple Play service.
Tom Toumazis, executive vice president and managing director, BVITV EMEA and Canada, said: "In addition to bringing consumers outstanding entertainment in a flexible new way, we appreciate T-Com's number of anti-piracy measures and procedures, giving consumers an attractive and affordable legal alternative to illegal file sharing."
T-Com represents the broadband/fixed network strategic business area in the Deutsche Telekom Group. With over 11 million broadband lines, nearly 40 million narrowband lines and more than 16 million Internet customers with a billing relationship, it is one of the largest broadband/fixed-network providers in Europe.
