GCap's Core to switch to music-only
Published Friday, Mar 16 2007, 12:12 GMT | By Joanne Oatts
GCap Media will remove all twelve presenters from digital station Core in two weeks, following poor audience figures.
In the last quarter of 2006 the station averaged 98,000 listeners a week, a 23.4% drop from the previous quarter, and a 5.8% drop on the previous year 2005
From Friday, March 30 the station will switch to music only. Nine of Core's 12 presenters are also employed on other GCap stations.
At Easter, fellow GCap digital station TheJazz will introduce presenters to its line-up. The station launched on Christmas Day with a music-only output.
