ITN has today launched its new "Truthloader" YouTube channel, broadcasting citizen journalism reports on a range of subjects, including untraceable drug deals and UFOs over Jerusalem.

Truthloader is a brand new citizen journalism channel from ITN Productions, part of the raft of original channels on the Google-owned video sharing network.

Citizen journalists, amateur eyewitnesses and passionate online campaigners from all around the world can submit reports to Truthloader.

All the reports will be curated by social media experts and professional journalists at ITN Productions, before they are published on the channel.

Author and blogger Phil Harper is the main presenter for Truthloader, supported by a team of executive producers.

With the central slogan of "challenge everything", Truthloader is billed as the home of curated citizen journalism reports and conspiracy theories.

It launches with several reports; including an investigation into untraceable drug deals on the web; the rise of unmanned military technology firing without human command; and the spotting of UFOs over Jerusalem.

Every Friday, Truthloader Investigates brings new reports and investigations about the latest conspiracy theories from around the world.

The channel also offers The Hangout, an as-live debate show over Skype and Google+ Hangout for citizen journalists chaired by Harper, and airing every Wednesday.

ITN Productions editorial director Chris Shaw said that citizen journalism has "moved to the very forefront of news and newsgathering", but people are often unsure whether to trust what they are watching.

"The Truthloader editorial team supported by Storyful and other social media experts will seek out the cutting-edge of citizen journalism on the web," he said.

"Truthloader viewers can expect to see new footage for under-reported stories and coverage of events that traditional journalists simply can't get to. Viewers set the agenda, citizen journalists supply the material, and we make the show."
