Despite Terry Wogan's on-air gaff, only an average 5 million were watching BBC One for the Eurovision: Making Your Mind Up show on Saturday night.
The programme managed a 22.6% share over 50-minutes, down one million viewers on the slot average for last year of 6.1 million and 28.7%.
The show peaked at 6.1 million and a 27.4% share at 8.15pm, but this was nowhere near the audience ITV pulled in for the Dancing on Ice final.
The celebrity skating show managed 9.6 million viewers and 43.5% share, peaking at 10.6 million and a 48.5% share in the final 15-minutes. The finale audience was down compared to the 2006 series however, which achieved 11.7 million and a 45.9% share.
ITV1's Primeval kept viewers on the channel during the skating show's two outings, with 6.1 million and a 26.5% share giving the show its second highest audience in its six-part run.
The return of Dame Edna to the channel was less successful, with only 3.4 million tuning at 9.40pm, down on the slot average of 4.2 million.
BBC One's Casualty also performed poorly with just 5.3 million and a 23.2% share over 50-minutes.
