Joseph gives 'Grease' a beating
BBC One talent show Any Dream Will Do took nearly 2 million more viewers than its ITV1 rival on Saturday night.

The 7.45pm BBC show pulled in 5.9 million, with ITV's Grease is the Word taking an average of 4 million viewers and 26% audience share when it aired at 6.05pm.

In the same time slot, the BBC One show also beat ITV1's Vernon Kay's Gameshow Marathon, which attracted 4.1 million viewers.

BBC One was helped by Doctor Who at 6.45pm, which averaged 6.8 million viewers and a 36% share.

In the earlier slot, Grease is the Word followed clips show All New You've Been Framed!, which had an audience of 3 million.

ITV's coverage of the 153rd Boat Race, which saw Cambridge beat Oxford, won its mid-afternoon time slot, pulling in 2.5 million viewers and a 26.3% share.

Another ITV Sport Easter outing - the fight between British boxers Amir Kahn and Joe Calzaghe at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff - managed just 2.7 million viewers and a 15.5% over a two-hour 9.45pm slot.
