RTL chief executive Gerhard Zeiler has said that the German company is committed to terrestrial channel Five, calling it a "great asset."
Speaking at the MipTV Festival in Cannes, he said that the channel had been in need of a "management change" but believed its managing director of content Lisa Opie was capable of boosting the channel's ratings.
"The channel will go in the right direction – I'm 100% sure of that," he added.
Zeiler also said that while RTL was keen to invest in content providers, he ruled out a bid for Telefonica-owned Endemol.
