The event to promote the channel's new on-screen identity, which feature space hoppers, saw 600 families, students and locals turn out on London's Millennium Bridge on Sunday morning.
The group beat the previous record of 551 people bouncing simultaneously on space hoppers, set in July 2003 by pupils and parents at St. Stephen's Church of England School, Bath. The Guinness World Record was adjudicated by Kim Lacey.
James Newton, UKTV Gold channel head, said: “We are delighted with the fantastic turn out today and chuffed to bits to have broken the Guinness World Record. It was a truly amazing sight as hundreds of people bounced over the bridge on gold space hoppers!”
