Johnny Vaughan heading back to Absolute Radio

By
Johnny Vaughan is heading back to the airwaves this weekend as cover for Ian Wright on Absolute Radio's Rock 'N' Roll Football.

Vaughan, who left Capital FM's Breakfast Show in November 2011, will present the Premier League discussion programme alongside co-host Ian Stone on Saturday (February 2).

Immediately following live commentary on Absolute Radio of the Arsenal versus Stoke game, Vaughan and Stone will host the live post-match show for two hours from 5pm, and take calls from listeners.

Vaughan previously fronted Absolute Radio's Olympics coverage last summer, as part of Johnny Vaughan Live from Hyde Park.

The show, aired from backstage at BT London Live in Hyde Park, featured live music and guests such as Jessica Ennis, Sir Bradley Wiggins and Sir Chris Hoy.

Absolute Radio content director Tony Moorey said: "It was a real pleasure working with Johnny across the summer - he's a broadcaster at the top of his game. We can't wait to welcome him back into the Absolute Radio fold."

Vaughan added: "Everybody knows I'm a huge footy fan and I can't wait to get back on the airwaves this weekend."

The former Big Breakfast star is only filling in for one week, though, as Ian Wright will return to Rock 'N' Roll Football on February 9.
