The commercial radio networks are to join together for a second UK Music Week from May 21.

More than 250 stations will be involved in the event which will feature daily lunchtime sessions and exclusive interviews with the likes of Amy Winehouse, Paolo Nutini and Mika.

The initiative will be broadcast across different stations grouped by the genres of pop, adult contemporary network, a 'gold' documentaries strand and urban music.

The rock group will include a vote for the greatest UK guitar band, which will go across Virgin Radio, Kerrang!, Xfm and Planet Rock. Chrysalis' Galaxy and Emap's Kiss form the urban group, featuring performances from Jamiroquai and Jamelia.

Emap TV will also be supporting the event with programming on Q and The Hits.
