Lisa Opie, the Five managing director of content, is reported to be close to appointing a new director of programming.
According to The Guardian the list is down to two, with Five controller of factual entertainment, Steve Gowans, and the children's controller Nick Wilson, believed to be the favourites. An announcement is expected in the coming weeks.
The role was vacated in the autumn by Dan Chambers, following Opie's appointment. Though previously linked to the BBC Three controllers job, Chambers is now thought to be starting up his own independent production company.
