Television coverage of the World Snooker Championship Final on BBC Two last night peaked at 5.2 million viewers between 11.00pm-11.15pm, a 40.9% share of the audience at the time.
The last session of the final, which saw John Higgins finally taking the title, had an average audience of 3.8 million and a 22% share.
Coronation Street kept some viewers on ITV at 8.30pm, taking 9.4 million and a 36.8% audience share. The 7.30pm episode had 10 million and a 43.9% share.
ITV1's two-hour bank holiday drama The History of Mr Polly did not do so well at 9pm, with the Lee Evans vehicle only managing 3.7 million and a 15.9% share.
New Tricks on BBC One managed 7.2 million and a 27.9% share at 9pm, well above its slot average for the year so far of 4.9 million and a 19.2% share.
