A BBC One Panorama documentary about Scientology, which featured reporter John Sweeney ‘losing it’, drew the programme's biggest audience of the series.
An average of 4.4 million viewers tuned in to watch the half-hour programme, grabbing a 19.2% share of the audience at that time.
The ratings were no doubt boosted by the publicity surrounding Sweeney's 'outburst' towards a member of the organisation, which had also been posted on video clip website YouTube earlier in the day.
The show grew its audience from 3.9 million and a 19.1% share at 8.30pm to 4.9 million and 21.2% at 9pm.
The second most watched Panorama in the series, TV's Dirty Secrets, shown last month, received 4.1 million and a 17% share.
