Food Network, Travel Channel come to Virgin Media TV

Food Network and Travel Channel are now available for Virgin Media pay-TV customers, it has been confirmed.

Scripps Networks and Virgin have struck a deal, spreading the two lifestyle channels to a larger audience.

"Our strategy is to make our award-winning content accessible to UK audiences via a variety of platforms and devices and we believe Virgin Media's pioneering TV platform will be the perfect combination to bring Virgin customers the best in lifestyle and entertainment programming."

The Travel Channel features programming such as Jonathan Phang's Caribbean Cookbook, Bizarre Foods America, International House Hunters, Hotel Impossible, Dangerous Grounds and World's Greatest Motorcycle Rides.

Food Network's biggest stars include Andy Bates, Reza Mahammad, Guy Fieri (Diners, Drive-ins & Dives) and Adam Richman (Man V Food).

Food Network UK will be on channel 287, and the Travel Channel is on channel 288, while programmes from both channels will be on Virgin Media's video-on-demand services from mid-July.
