Audiences viewing broadcast content viewed online could be measured by the end of the year.
The BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Five, Sky, Barb and the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising have created a working party which has been working with ABC Electronic to create statistical reports using agreed criteria. ABCE is the the online arm of the ABC, which records newspaper and magazine circulations.
The reports will initially cover simulcast content rather than downloads, and it is not known whether the content will be made public.
