Virgin Radio poaches Channel 4 digital director

Channel 4's managing director of digital content Andy Grumbridge is to join Virgin Radio as its director of digital media.

Having been at Channel 4 for seven years, Grumbridge will replace James Cridland at Virgin Radio who recently left the station to join the BBC as head of future media and technology, audio and music.

Virgin Radio chief executive Paul Jackson said: "Virgin Radio has always been at the forefront of innovation in digital media with a heritage of bringing exciting music based content to new growth platforms. Andy has a proven track record in this field and is well placed to continue our strong pedigree in this key area of our business."

Grumbridge starts his role in August and will focus on the building the station's online presence.
