Five criticised for new Diana doc

A new Five documentary about Princess Diana has been criticised by royal commentators.

Diana: Last Days of a Princess will air at the end of this month, but critics have claimed that there is nothing new to say about the late Princess's final days and accused the broadcaster of exploiting the 10th anniversary of her death.

"All they are doing is trying to make money out of someone else's personal tragedy," Lord St John of Fawsley insisted. "They have trawled through it as though they were Sherlock Holmes. No one is interested in what they are doing."

Judy Wade, royal correspondent for Hello! magazine, told The Mirror: "It is deliberately timed at the moment to get the maximum number of viewers."

Producers have insisted that the programme contains new eye-witness accounts and a unique dramatisation of Diana's final hours.
