Cape Wrath hit a series low of just 845,000 viewers last night (Tuesday), taking a huge tumble in the ratings in its first half hour on air.
Almost half of the audience deserted the dark drama after the first fifteen minutes, with ratings dropping from 1.4 million and a 7.5% share at 10pm to 735,000 and a 4.1% share by 10.30pm.
The series - a co-production with US network Showtime - is due to end in two weeks' time with a double-bill.
Elsewhere last night, ITV suffered with the final part of its documentary Guarding The Queen, which drew 2.6 million (13.4%) in the 9pm hour. BBC One's Waking The Dead repeat had 3.5 million (17.1%) while Five's CSI: Miami put in a solid 2.5 million (12%).
