Radio 1 has amended the schedule for this year's Ibiza Weekend which starts on Friday August 10.
Pete Tong starts the Ibiza Weekend with a studio show from Cafe Mambo at 7pm playing for two hours, followed by a live 3-hour studio show from Annie Mac.
On Saturday, Radio 1 will broadcast with a live audience from Cafe Mambo's terrace from 4pm with Vernon Kay and Radio 1 Allstars Zane Lowe, Pete Tong, Annie Mac and Judge Jules. Kay will then be joined for a half-hour DJ 'soundclash' with Pete Tong at 6.30pm. The DJs will battle it out tune for tune, before Tong plays an extended set with visits from surprise guests in front of the audience until 9pm.
Judge Jules was originally to have played at two hour set from Café Mambo at 7pm on Saturday, followed by a show from Bar M with Ibiza Rocks hosted by Zane Lowe from 9pm. These have been removed from Radio 1's schedule.
On Sunday, Vernon Kay will be coming live from Cafe Mambo's studios from 10-1pm, with Dave Pearce presenting his DJ set recorded at Ibiza club Eden the week before at 7-10pm. Judge Jules will now round up the Ibiza Weekend with a 2-hour live DJ set from Judgement Sundays at Eden at midnight on Sunday.
Jason Carter, editor of Radio 1 Live Events said: "Radio 1 has been working closely with the San Antonio local authority and have revised our plans following recommendations from them. There will be a slight change to the originally announced schedule, it's going to be a huge weekend and we look forward to returning to the White Isle this weekend."
Other highlights include the 5-hour Essential Mix from Radio 1 & Cream at Amnesia on Saturday night from midnight with DJs Eddie Halliwell, Sasha, Steve Angello, Annie Mac, Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, Simian Mobile Disco and Touche.
