1Xtra announces Leeds and Notting Hill weekends

1Xtra has announced its special carnival schedule for the August Bank Holiday weekend 2007.
Throughout the weekend, 1Xtra DJs will be broadcasting live from both the Leeds and Notting Hill carnivals. 1Xtra's Ace & Vis will be coming from the heart of Leeds, with 1Xtra's soca show host Alex Jordan joining forces with weekend presenter Dev to broadcast from Notting Hill.
For the second consecutive year the 1Xtra sound system will make also an appearance Leeds' Potterdown Park on Sunday and Monday, whilst in Notting Hill 1Xtra will host a soca float with new presenter Zena reporting live from the carnival route.
1Xtra's Leeds & Notting Hill Carnival broadcasts kick off midnight on Saturday August 25 night with 1Xtra Live, broadcasting highlights from soca king Machel Montano's massive concert recorded the night before in London. The weekend continues on Sunday when Robbo Ranx comes live from the annual reggae concert in Potternewton Park, Leeds.
On Monday August 27, 1Xtra will be giving listeners over 12 hours of special broadcasting with live coverage from both Leeds and Notting Hill throughout the day, including a 2-hour broadcast from the Rampage sound system in Notting Hill.
On Monday evening, 1Xtra will broadcast a European radio exclusive interview with Jamaican reggae star Jah Cure, followed by a special session with acclaimed producer/DJ Mark Ronson.
The weekend's broadcast schedule will culminate in a 1Xtra Live Special from the 1Xtra Carnival After Party in London, featuring extra-special guests including MIMS, who will be performing his massive single This Is Why I'm Hot. 1Xtra's Carnival After Party hit squad - Semtex, MistaJam, Seani B, Ronnie Herel, G Child and Rampage - will also be playing carnival party tunes throughout the night.
1Xtra listeners will be given the opportunity to attend the exclusive 1Xtra After Carnival Party by registering online on the 1Xtra website until August 17.
This year marks the fifth year 1Xtra will be broadcasting from the Notting Hill Carnival, and the second year from the Leeds Carnival.
