BBC's Yentob in 'noddy' controversy
The BBC has admitted that BBC creative director and Imagine presenter Alan Yentob filmed 'nodding' shots for the programme's interviews.

According The Guardian, the shots were edited with interviews to make it look like Yentob was reacting to the subject, when he did not actually perform the interviews himself.

It has been suggested that while Yentob conducts interviews with the main subjects of the programme, conversations with other interviewees featured were edited to make it look like Yentob was present.

A source close to the programme has admitted the practice went on, as Yentob was "unable to attend every interview that appears on his show because of his workload," and defended the practice as a standard industry technique.

Newsnight editor Peter Barron has already banned 'walking shots' - where a reporter and interviewee are shown walking together prior to an interview - from the show, and has limited 'nodding' shots in the programme but has not so far banned them.

Last week, Five News announced it would not be using techniques such as 'nodding' or 'walking' shots in any of its reports.
