Friction TV announces LBC deal
Published Monday, Sep 10 2007, 16:31 BST | By Joanne Oatts
Online video debating site Friction TV has become the first official social media partner for London's talk radio station LBC 97.3.
James O'Brien's morning show will be the focus for the initiative, which each Monday will see O'Brien post a thread onto www.friction.tv and invite listeners to respond.
This will then run as a feature on O'Brien's Friday show under the working title Friday Friction in which the DJ and listeners will debate and discuss opinions posted on the subject.
O'Brien said: "I'm delighted to be hooking up with Friction.tv which clearly shares both my passion for a good debate and the belief that professional pundits and pontificators rarely have the most interesting things to say. I'm also excited that listeners to my radio show will now be able to see my face which, let's face it, constitutes a considerable treat for them."
In July, Friction partnered with Five News to provide a platform for a new feature called 'Your Views', part of its user-generated strand Your News, using material posted to www.friction.tv.
