BBC WW digital deal for Talkback, Prominent

BBC Worldwide has signed a digital deal with Talkback Thames and Prominent Television to deliver their content on digital media platforms.
This will allow the BBC's commercial arm to exploit the rights to the indies content in long and short forms online, mobile, video-on-demand and other digital channels.
The Talkback Thames deal covers the likes of Alan Partridge, Big Train, Monkey Dust and The Day Today. The arrangement with Prominent Television, Michael Palin’s production company, will see BBC Worldwide secure digital media rights to the travel presenter’s programmes including Full Circle and Pole to Pole.
This follows on from previous digital distribution deals with Kudos and Baby Cow for programmes such as Spooks, Hustle and The Mighty Boosh.
Jemma Adkins, head of content, digital media, BBC Worldwide, said: "Whilst digital media rights are now a standard part of every production agreement, when these programmes were made this wasn’t the case. We’re now remedying that situation so we can leverage these properties across the range of new output channels that are available today.”
