Virgin Atlantic arch-rival British Airways will be among the first advertisers to appear on Virgin 1.
ZenithOptimedia, which counts L'Oreal, Lexus and BA among its advertising clients, has secured the first ad break on October 1, Virgin 1's launch night.
IDS, Virgin Media TV's saleshouse, has separately concluded a sponsorship deal with Vauxhall for America's Next Top Model. Ads for the car manufacturer's Tigra will support seasons one and two of the show until the end of the year. The six-figure deal also covers a continued sponsorship of the show on Virgin 1 sibling Living.
"These commercial announcements will be the first of many for Virgin 1," said James Wildman, managing director of IDS. "We’ve had an incredibly high volume of advertiser enquiries about the channel ever since the plans for launch were unveiled. These high profile brands are representative of the types of advertisers viewers can expect to see on Virgin 1. We’re obviously delighted to also be extending the relationship between Vauxhall and America’s Next Top Model into the DTT platform."
