A competition run by Birmingham radio station BRMB has been criticised because it gave listeners the impression they would be winning a trip to Athens in Greece.
The prize "to go to Athens and watch the Champions League Final" was in fact a prize for 100 listeners to watch the game and enjoy a meal at local restaurant called Athens.
One winner's husband complained to the media regulator Ofcom, which ruled that the competition had breached rules on fairness. The regulator said listeners were not given an indication that the trip would not involve travelling to Greece until a week after the competition opened.
BRMB owner GCap Media said that only three listeners had complained about the competition and had been offered a refund of their text entries.
The regulator said that no action would be taken against BRMB as it was the first breach recorded against the Birmingham station.
