Channel 4 has pulled its Late Night & Live web debate strand due to compliance problems.
The new initiative was announced last week and was due to launch last online night after the Dispatches programme China’s Stolen Children aired at 8pm.
However, production company Smokefall, the company behind the live debate show, told Broadcast that the debate was scrapped due to problems with the online chat engine that would have shown viewers emailed responses to the streamed debate.
The company is aiming to resolve the problem with another interactive debate planned for October 22. The debate on China will be filmed and broadcast on the web at a later date.
