Channel 4 International's Richard Life has been appointed Granada International's head of factual.
Life will oversee all factual acquisitions and co-productions, and build relationships with factual producers.
Emmanuelle Namiech, director of acquisitions and co-productions at Granada International said: "I am delighted that Richard will be joining us. He is highly respected by producers, talent and broadcasters alike with a vast experience of the factual genre in all its forms. He has a strong passion and understanding for programming, from its development, to production and to rights exploitation."
At Channel 4 International, Life was head of factual co-productions and then head of programming. Prior to that, Life was a producer at Wall to Wall Television, and has also been a news editor at Broadcast and editorial director at Broadcasting and Cable International TV Publishing.
Life said: "GI has a strong reputation for co-producing and producing factual programming from the early days of Survival and World in Action through to the ground breaking Up series and I Shouldn’t Be Alive. There are many opportunities for continued growth and development of the genre internationally and I look forward to adding significantly to GI’s programming portfolio."
