BBC Four "delighted" with 'Fanny Hill' ratings

The head of planning and scheduling at BBC Four has said he is "delighted" with Fanny Hill's record ratings achievement for the channel.

Speaking after it was confirmed that the period drama achieved 1.1m viewers - a 5.3% share - last night, Don Cameron said: "We're absolutely delighted that the first ever television adaptation of Fanny Hill has proved such a success with viewers. The drama has a fabulous cast and has been brilliantly adapted by Andrew Davies. This is all adds up to making it our most-watched programme and our third best night ever."

The drama's concluding part airs next Monday at 9pm.

Topping the list of BBC Four's best nights are Stephen Fry Night on August 18, 2007 and Kenneth Williams Fantabulosa Night on March 13, 2006.
