Loaded magazine founder James Brown has been hired as Sumo.tv's creative and editorial director.
He is charged with raising the profile of the user-generated-content service, developing marketing and editorial, building audiences and attracting new content.
Sumo.tv publishes user-generated content on mobile devices, the internet and television.
Brown said: "With consumers increasingly dividing their time between proliferating media sources, there are significant rewards for companies with effective multi-platform digital entertainment strategies and I am confident that we can continue to build Sumo as an exceptional integrated presence on television, online and via mobile services."
Andrew Wilson, chief executive of Sumo.tv's owner Cellcast, said Brown had a "deep understanding of [Sumo's] target audience".
Sumo.tv, previously only available on the web and mobiles, launched on digital satellite in November last year.
It today announced its revenue between July and last month as £124,000 but said it was increasing 10 per cent a month.
