Ofcom awards community radio licence

Ofcom has awarded a new community radio licence to Radio Jcom in Leeds.
The not-for-profit station will broadcast on medium wave and provide programmes aimed at the city's Jewish community.
In a statement released before the licence was awarded, the station said: "Radio Jcom envisages a 24-hour service 6 days a week comprising of a wide range of programmes from music to sport to youth to news, encompassing every aspect of the Jewish community.
"Radio Jcom is a non-profit organisation where any surplus will be reinvested in the station. Local business and communal organisations are encouraged to sponsor or advertise on air and on the web site."
