Published Tuesday, Nov 20 2007, 13:08 GMT | By Neil Wilkes

'NMETV', which bills itself as "the essential channel for real alternative music enthusiasts", will feature music videos, chart roundups, artist profiles, news updates and interviews.
The channel is a joint venture between IPC Ignite and CSC Media Group, which operates a small portfolio of music and movie stations including The Vault, Bliss and True Movies. IPC previously launched a channel based on Nuts magazine in partnership with TBS.
"Launching a linear television channel is a major new development for the UK's leading alternative music brand," said Paul Cheal, the magazine's publishing director. "NMETV will add an important new strand of content to our existing platforms."
The station will be available on Sky channel 377.
