An MP has said the BBC should not take advertising revenue from upcoming on demand service Kangaroo.
It is likely some shows on the BBC, ITV and Channel 4 collaboration, announced yesterday, will feature commercials while others will be pay-per-view.
Conservative MP Philip Davies, a member of the House of Commons culture, media and sport select committee, said if the corporation made money from the service it should go back to licence fee payers.
He commented: "In effect it is the licence fee payer that has paid for the programmes to be made in the first place.
"If the BBC is using that to sell on to get some advertising revenue, one might think the licence fee payers are entitled to a refund."
