1Xtra to cover Africa Cup of Nations

BBC 1Xtra has outlined its plans for coverage of the 26th Africa Cup of Nations.
Coverage of the football tournament will run from January 13 to February 10, and will include a 100% HomeGrown five-a-side, special features on the 1Xtra Breakfast Show, and live programmes from Ghana.
"1Xtra is looking forward to covering the Africa Cup Of Nations for the first time," said Ray Paul, executive producer for mainstream programmes and special events at the station. "We will be producing some pretty amazing radio shows – our listeners will be able to hear the energy and passion of African football fans while learning about how important this event is culturally.
"We'll have a great team of presenters with Ace, Treble T and DJ Edu being perfectly placed to provide us with a great balance of knowledge and African heritage."
