Motorola is to push mobile television in an attempt to revive its financial performance, it has been reported.
The company believes it can convince more people to take up such services and will reveal a new device, the size of a paperback book, next week, according to The Times.
The Mobile TV DH01 will display live and downloaded television programmes and will allow users to transfer up to 90 minutes of content from digital video recorders onto it. It will be launched at Las Vegas's Consumer Electronics Show, says the report.
It will have a 4.3" screen and use the DVB-H broadcasting standard which Motorola has been backing for two years.
The manufacturer's chief executive Ed Zander left last month after profits plummeted by 94% in the third quarter.
