Joost has hired a new senior vice president of engineering to help expand its internet television service.
Matt Zelesko will lead engineering operations and join the firm's management team. He will be based in New York where Joost is opening a second "engineering hub".
Chief executive “Mike Volpi said: "Matt brings an unparallelled combination of technological vision, management expertise and strategic thinking that is critical as Joost embarks on our next phase of growth.
"I’ve known Matt for many years having worked together at Cisco –and I'm confident that he is the ideal person to lead Joost's engineering organisation."
He leaves Comcast Interactive Media where he was also vice president of engineering and created the cable operator's online video platform.
He has also worked on networking at Voyence Inc and was director of engineering for Cisco subsidiary Gigabit Technology Group.
It comes as Joost's chief technology officer Dirk-Willem van Gulik leaves to become chief technical architect for BBC Future Media and Technology.
