Lambert has been involved in some of the biggest shows in UK television in recent years with credits including Faking It and Wife Swap.
The new company, Studio Lambert, is a joint venture with major indie group All3Media.
Several respected names in UK production have already been recruited including Peter Moore, who executive produced Jamie's Kitchen and The Apprentice series one, Jenny Crowther, series producer of Wife Swap and The Secret Millionaire, Jo Crawley, series producer for Faking It, and Brat Camp producer Tamara Abood.
Lambert, who is chief executive, said: "We all wanted to be involved in building something new. We are delighted to be working together and for my part, I am really pleased to be starting afresh with such a great team. We are looking forward to announcing soon the names of several other colleagues who will join as we get going."
He planned to "get established here in Britain first" but then "hit the States with some really strong ideas", he added.
