Published Friday, May 2 2008, 10:00 BST | By Dave West

The CNN Google Gadget is the first video-centric gadget to be offered by an international news organisation. It is one of several applications that can be added to users' individual sites with the iGoogle service.
Casey Harwood, senior vice president in Europe for CNN owner Turner Broadcasting said it would increase the reach of the broadcaster's news content.
"CNN International is actively embracing new ways of distributing content as part of a customer acquisition strategy to reach audiences more widely across the digital space”, said Harwood.
"This video-based Google Gadget is an innovative way of driving traffic to our website and is a great extension of our current suite of digital services."
The Gadget links to CNN's YouTube site which carries more video news.
