Published Tuesday, Jun 10 2008, 16:27 BST | By Dave West

The audience is made up of 78m weekly viewers of the BBC World News channel, up 2m from 2006/7, 182m World Service listeners and 13m weekly unique users of bbcnews.com.
The combined total is the same as that for 2006/7 and up from 211m in 2005/6.
"Maintaining the BBC's impact in this fiercely competitive global media marketplace for news services is a huge achievement," said global news director Richard Sambrook.
"This demonstrates that people around the world still turn to the BBC when they need quality news and information that is independent and trusted."
The estimates are compiled by the BBC from various audience research and other surveys.
