Watch acquires new 'Dancing' series

UKTV has acquired the British multichannel broadcast rights to the ninth series of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars from BBC Worldwide to play exclusively on its family entertainment channel Watch.

The latest season, featuring celebrities including Kelly Osbourne, Donny Osmond, Melissa Joan Hart and Macy Gray, will premiere on Watch Monday, September 28 at 9pm.

UKTV’s Lesley Pemberton said of the acquisition: "We’re thrilled to have secured yet another series of Dancing With The Stars exclusively for Watch.

"Over the last four seasons, it's proved hugely popular and we suspect Kelly Osbourne’s involvement will really ensure this latest one attracts younger viewers while also offering Strictly fans the opportunity to enjoy the US take on their favourite dancing format every Friday night."

The eighth series of Dancing, which featured Lil' Kim and Belinda Carlisle, aired on Watch earlier this year.
