Darren Aronofsky has been in discussion with MGM to helm the studio's Robocop remake, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The critically-lauded Requiem For A Dream filmmaker is reportedly in line to direct a new version of Paul Verhoeven's 1987 sci-fi hit. The original revolved around a fatally-wounded police officer who becomes a cyborg crime fighter.

MGM has also hired Dan Bradley, a second unit director on the latest Bond film, to guide its remake of Red Dawn. Carl Ellsworth will pen the screenplay.

It was recently announced that Drew Goddard and Joss Whedon will team with MGM to make the horror movie Cabin In The Woods.
